Prenatal Massage Certification

Is there ANYWHERE that has a program that certifies an MT in pre/peri natal massage? I had an interview today with a medspa that is owned by a OB-GYN--a lot of the the expecting clients come to the medspa for massages. Therefore, it's VERY important that any formalities to be had by an MT are...but I only know how to perform prenatal massage.

I'd like a refresher course (it's been almost a year since someone pregnant has used my services) and knowledge about certification. Any suggestions?

You can check the AMTA website under Continuing Education. They give the course offerings, locations and schedules for the entire year. There's a Kate Jordan seminar in March (here in Chicago) and Body Therapy Associates offers a 32-hour (4 day) certification which is where I got my certification. You can check their website.

I am planning on taking the Pre and Perinatal Massage Therapy Certification with Carole Osbourne-Sheets in April at the Swedish Institute in NYC.

I've decided to go with a massage doula course. You can learn about it at massagedoula.com

While I'd like to be able to do the 200 hour Cortiva program I simply don't live close enough to any of the schools that offer it and since I already have a family to support I don't see myself leaving them for the 10 months it takes to complete the courses.

I did have a very excellent pre/post natal and infant massage class while going through school but it did not come with any certifications. ~I even when through school while I was pregnant with my youngest so I got the best of both worlds (great education with a massage at least 3 times a week) & all my classmates got a "real" pregnant lady to practice on~

That said if I hadn't already had great hands on instruction I'd be looking for a workshop with hands on instruction as well as the distance classes.
