Pregnant while learning

I have recently been accepted into LCBT to do a massage course for 7 months which will start in August. However my partner and I have been trying for a baby and it is possible that I may be pregnant. If this is the case can I still do the course? If anyone can give me some advice on this subject I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

If you are starting a course in August, you (hopefully?) will be 6/7 months pregnant, so probably capable of doing some training, but once you get to around 8/9 months may be too physically tired - plus, would other people on the course be able to use you as a 'body' for practical sessions? If you have the baby, what about child care while you are at college? Personally, I couldn't bear to be away from my babies, so took 6 months off as maternity leave. Could your course wait?
You don't actually know if you are pregnant do you? So, you could always keep your name on the list, but withdraw if you are successful at conceiving.

Thank you for your help. The course is for 2 days a week and I would be able to get child care for those days. Would I be able to start the course, take maternity leave then carry on after? Or would it be better for me to start the course after baby? Because if I am pregnant I want to make sure I make the right choices, and if i'm not my partner and I still want to start a family so it would be nice to know my options.

You would need to talk to the training provider about your study/maternity leave options, but if I were in your shoes, I would wait to do the course - babies come first!

Yes you can still do the course, the massage you'll receive will help your body prepare for the baby by keeping your muscles supple. As Jabba has said I would advice talking to the training provider before you enrol.

Hi, I fell pregnant with my daughter while doing my ITEC massage course (she is now 16 so a while ago now ) I was six months pregnant when I completed the course and didn't have any problems. Receiving massage while you are pregnant will be wonderful and great experience for the others you are training with. Unfortunately you won't know until the time comes how physically able you will be and I guess it just depends when you fall pregnant and how your due date fits with exam dates etc. Good luck both with getting pregnant and the course! I would add that the opportunity for your fellow students to practice on you will be very valuable - from the logistics of positioning and pillow-placement, to helping you to move on the table, to dealing with the changes they will find, eg softer connective tissue, to the clinical aspects of what to do/not to do/be aware of, observing the changes over the months, and post-partum - this could be extremely good experience for them, and for you.

If the college are happy with this then I'd say it's a very good idea.
