Pregnancy massage pillows

Hi everyone, happy new year. Just wondering if anyone had come across pillows which are specially designed for pregnancy massage (apparently they have a hole in the middle for the bump). Someone told me about it the other day but I have no idea where I would get one from, does anyone know of any stockists please?

Hi Staranise, I don't work with pregnant clients prone - mainly side lying, but sometimes seated or floor/birth ball/positions. For that I have a big selection of different size/density pillows, cushions, bolsters, wedges, rolled towelsetc and just experiment with what makes a particular client comfortable. All part of the treatment - getting (and keeping) the client comfortable - you also need to observe and see when they are 'really' comfortable because most clients will tell you they are comfortable even when they are only somewhat comfortable.

I work with a couch -mine is wide and also lower than normal, but working on the floor is great if your knees and posture can take it!

This approachdoes mean that you need to be flexible andadapt your massage round the clients position and comfort - but thats my philosophy - I would rather do this than have the client adapt to my massage technique/position.

Sorry I have no knowledge of special pillows - or event the couches with a hole for the bump and boobs- I have always felt they were a bit of a gimmick.I expect they are also expensive- I would want to 'try before I buy'. The above options are inexpensive and adaptable! Also I would have some concerns about prone positions and prefer to work in the positions mum uses to sleep. Anyone have experience of these tools?
