Apart from raw sensation there is a mental dynamic to sex whether it be that you are in control, she is in control, you are intimate or you are kinky. COF is usually a power move, while getting an HJ is usually a submissive move (unless you are telling her exactly what to do). IME, yes, absolutely. D/s can just be a thing you do or it can be highly intimate. Kinks are the same, they can be an exchange of power or not, and a highly intimate act - or not.

I think for a lot, if not most, they look for what is missing in their life. If they already have intimacy with someone they'll go looking for something a little different. If your relationship lacks intimacy then you'll go looking for that.
