Poll: How many hours do you..?

For Etown pooners specifically (Calgary pooners may wish to do their separate poll):

~ Considering that a one hour GFE session in etown at one of the MPs may run you 300 bux,

~ How many hours do you need to put in at your work to earn that amount? (before tax)..

We have such a varied group of pooners in here, that I'm curious about the mix..

Do you mean taking tax into consideration?
EG
If I earn $50 an hour I'd have to work 6 hours to gross $300 but in reality I'd likely need to work > 8 hours to clear the $$$.

We'll keep it simple and straightforward, u-be..Before tax, not taking tax into consideration..

The guys can probably figure out the after tax consideration for themselves, but for keeping the poll simple, we'll just use the Before tax hours..hope that clarifies it..

Since I work for myself and charge by the job and not by the hour, I don't really know. All in all, I guess I could probably estimate it at $30-40 per hour.

This number does not take into account all the hours I spend in my office when I should be working but am browsing massageplanet and Perb instead.

You could also ask those who are making $300 an hour, how many hours a day they are actually make this (and how many hours in preparation or waiting for calls or waiting for no-shows or travelling to appointments...)

However, if you are interested in making an editorial statement I think there are a few more straightforeward ways to do it... but if you're looking to just stir up some controversy I think you're on the right track.

(To answer your question though, so far this year I have had months where I have made $10,000 to $20,000 an hour and months where I have made $0 an hour. If you are self employed you are familiar with that scenario.)

I think that not taking tax into consideration is folly.

For all you salary self employed types...your equivalent hour is your GROSS before tax dollars divided by 2...that gives you your hour within 40 cents or so if you work a normal work week. Hope this helps . ie $100 000 equals a $50/hr job.

hmmm - this certainly is an interesting poll. It would make more sense after tax though. No big deal. Add an average of about 40% to the hours worked, and walla. That makes sense, right???
