oooh goodness Rosie - well I'm appalled !
I simply cant believe a practitoner of any sorts would come out with something so insensitive to their clients needs. I'm no shrinking violet & often speak as i find - no messing but I dont think any DR, Beauty Therapist, Reiki master, Reflexologist - whatever qualification or any specialist in any field should tell their client/patient what they think the person is feeling over & above as a better guide/gauge than the clients own.
We can offer suggestions & plausible scientific, holistic reasons of whym how etc but to totally ignore a client & her thoughts opinions etc is - in my humble opinion of course - totally outrageous & wholly unprofessional. ie she thought the woman was fine !! hmmn okay but how did the woman feel ?
Plus - to totally ignore what her client said - ie she was actually telling her how she felt - "I enjoy reflexology and would like to come for an hour weekly" To then suggest what she thought would be better & cheaper sounds totally incompetent to me. Surely our best interest is our clients needs ! Perhaps she isnt confident with her application of reflexology & the benefits. Perhaps she believes more in her ability as a beauty therapist or others' ability to help her client - thus not charging ! Perhaps she didnt feel she was worthy.
Maybe her reaction is from lack of confidence, which thus may be fuelling her words.
But hey I am guessing !! with respect for the practitioner after all she must believe what she is doing ----- is right ! But the client obviously doesnt or she wouldnt be requesting second opinions.
I have treated many of my clients for nothing at times - esp if they've been going through hard times but I do believe & know I am worthy of my full price ( & more
Personally i feel that type of full on - telling somebody what when & how isnt helping the client find her own way to heal, resolve etc, being whom she should be, exploring all options & making decisions from her own experiences. To take away the clients responsibility towards their own health isnt good.
Hmmn I'm being totally outspoken Rosie ( as always but I dont think the client has her best interests looked after at all
To tell somebody to stop going to a web site that is full of information & support etc is a laittle harsh. I understand about the hols - i agree isnt a holiday great at anytime any excuse & if poss Id love to just stop & book a holiday as yes a change is as good as a rest !
Bless - keep up the good work Rosie - keep chipping away, we can all learn from education & updating - you'll get through to many but not perhaps all - nevertheless many will beneift from your knowledge & experience.
and breathe .. . .
PS - Hope you are all healthy & happy , enjoying life & all
wonderful offerings.
