omni massager

Hiya,

As you've probably seen before an omni massager is a massage 'aid' that looks and works a bit like adeodrant in that it has a rotating ball in the top- although this has quite a bit more weight in it than a deodrant and there's no liquid! It's meant to be great for working into adhesions in the muscle fibres and excellent for deep tissue work.

Has anyone used one in a massage you've given? Do you find them effective?

I have a couple and have used them, though mostly on myself, my partner and friends. They can feel really nice when running up and down your back and around the scapulae. However I don't use them for any of my paid treatments, i'm not a big fan of massage tools ... i would rather feel the body and muscles.

Oh yes- I totally agree there. I think you can gain far more insight into where the tension is being held, the degree of joint mobility etc if you use your own hands. Or maybe not in your case (re: being a no hands practitioner!)

I bought one today and I have to say it is quite nice, but I think I'll have to try it out a bit before I decide whether it would be of any additional benefit as a small part of the treatment.

I have some too, got a show coming up and I'm going to have some on sale, and it'll be my first time to test the public on how much they like them and how easy they are to learn to use. Will let you know how the roadtestgoes hehe.What I liked was thatthe surface is quite wide and so reduces the risk of someone hurting themselves but theball can still be used to massage fairlydeep and get good results.

That would be great if you could give me some general feedback on how people find the Omni massagers JustineI tried it out on a friend who's a massage therapist too, and she loved it...however after 5 mins of using it my hand felt as if it had taken a bit of tonk...so I'm not entirely convined that it's easier going on the therapist!!
