Oils best for someone who suffers with Thrush on a regular basis

Hello,

I have a client that is wanting me to make her a shower gel using essential oils. She has extremly sensitive skin and finds that if she uses "high street" shower gels for more than a week, she is suseptible to Thrush - which oils am i best to use?

It would depend on what is in the shower gel base to be honest. Tea tree is good for treating thrush, but if your client has sensitive skin, I wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis. To be honest and speaking from my own experience and having been treated for thrush for nearly twenty years before it was realised that I actually didn't have it, but a chronic skin problem. My dermatologist even referred me to a clinical herbalist who made me up tinctures and sitz baths, but nothing helped.

The only thing I am able to wash with is Emulsifying Ointment (available from chemists).

If it is thrush then she really needs to get to the cause doesn't she? There are some basic common sense things that can be done. Has she got some advice on the problem? I am not sure that essential oils are the best way to go for showering in this case.
