Im sound a bit like a broken record when I say I wanna work with the GLBT community, namely transgendered, but I got this idea in my head about a massage style that tailors to people transitioning genders.
My idea comes from the realization that trans people go threw alot of phyical changes when they undergo HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and from personal experience it causes alot of body strains.
The shifting of body fat for one; women get alot of fatty tissue moved to their hips and chest area whlle men get it more around the upper body.
So for a trans-women wbo has new breast tissue growing in the pectorals are put under alot of strain, where-as for a trans-guy the intercostals are actually having alot of pressure put on them from chest bindings.
I wanna use Namikoshi Shiatsu because I feel it would be best suited for this task and I plan to interview some people I know about the body changes that occur and what hurts the most.
As a bonus question, does anyone have experience massaging a transgendered person?
