Numbness

I am treating a lady who has a trapped nerve L4-L5, I am not massaging this area but the trapped nerve causes complete numbness in her right foot and shin. This area she really enjoys having massaged. I just wondered if anyone knew of any oils that are good for numbness as i have never come across this before, will be hitting the books to research too.

Anything with a warming property to it would help i would imagine. As numbness creates cold and lack of blood flow you need to keep the flow going so anything along that sorta line really. I'm too tired to think which ones at the moment but thats what i would use anyways.

1st she needs to be checked for anything other than a trapped nerve. EG MS
2nd she needs to be treated for it if it is just physical ...osteopath or perhaps sports style massage. (the QLs often do this to a person)
Sports massage or manipulation will probably work.
AT can only help psycholgically in what is an (from your description) obvious physical injury.

Thanx for the comments. She is being treated by an osteopath and has been checked out for different conditions. She is coming to me for pure relaxation, also i am pretty sure the osteopath is only treating the back not having contact with the leg, though i will check this with her.
