I was considering taking some CE courses over the next two years to get certified for NMT. From what I understand at the moment NMT mostly uses a mix of MFR and Trigger points, which are things I already do. However, I could be wrong on that. I was also hoping that somebody on the boards have taken these courses (http://www.nmtcenter.com/ to be specific of the provider) and had any feedback or success stories from it. Does anyone out there have experience in this?

I attended a school that offers this program as a part of their curriculum. The only difference is that instead of having several weeks or months (or longer?) between the sections, we plowed through all of the material in about 10 or 12 weeks of class.

I think there is a benefit in having time to practice the routines that you learn in class while you treat your current clients.

Most of the clients I see come in for full body and relaxation. When they also are concerned about a specific area of tension, it is so easy to include NMT spot treatment into a swedish massage session. It is nice to know, when someone comes in wanting (needing) work in a specific area, that I have learned these skills.

A former classmate now rents her office from a chiropractor, and tells me she often uses the intra-oral routines for TMJ treatment, as well as including deep anterior cervical routine when treating clients with whiplash issues.

Thank you Jason and Marie! I did read over the older thread, which was really helpful. I think the Massage program that I went to actually incorporated at least a few NMT techniques, but I have been drawn to this in depth education for a while now. So I think I'll go ahead and register.
