I've been having numbness in the top of my foot but it's more of a decreased sensation than numbness (approx. 7 weeks now). One day it had gone all the way up my leg which prompted me to go to urgent care. They did blood tests which came back good and they said my glucose levels were "reassuring" to kind of calm the fears of diabetes. They refered me to a neurologist.
The neurologist did poking tests and balance etc... and told me that it's possibly nerve compression but they'd also like to rule out MS because the distribution of the numbness is odd. So I'm supposed to get an MRI. I decided to try a few things before the MRI so that if it was nerve compression or something of the sort I could cancel the MRI and not waste my time or money.
I have been going to a chiropractor for adjustments for most my life but had been neglecting it for quite some time. I decided to go back to see if it could relieve the numbness in my foot. Unfortunately the chiropractor adjustments haven't made a difference with the numbness. However, I do have some tingling in the mornings now.
So, I tried a massage last week and the next day I started having sharp pains in my lower back. I'm still having the pains. They aren't debilitating and not constant but they definately do not feel normal. I have not had ANY pain until after the massage.
I'm going in today for an MRI to rule out MS and to see if maybe there's any sort of nerve damage/pressure.
Is pain like that normal after a massage?
any ideas about the numbness?
