I have been having issues with pain in my wrists following massages for a while now, and have decided to take a couple of months off massaging for rest and to get the issue checked out medically. If I have no permanent damage, then after a couple of months I intend to go back to massge but only a couple of afternoons a week max.
I have a "NO HANDS" weekend course booked coming up soon, but I have heard from several sources that it is a very mixed bag - basically good technique but they use the 'hard sell' and VERY shady business practises such as subliminal messages (!). I am having doubts about this course now, I do not want to support a business that uses such practises and frankly if anybody tries to subliminally influence me into buying their products they will get a right mouthful from me!
I have recently been reading around deep tissues massage - could anyone tell me if 'standard' deep tissue massage (if there is such a thing) would be a good way to explore using other body parts for massage, or if this technique is also very hard on wrists and thumbs?
All feedback appreciated
