Has anyone done myofascial yet? If you have I am curious what your classmates responses were? We did myofascial work today for the first time and out of the four classmates that were on the tables three of them had complete meltdowns. One woman cried for 1 1/2 hours. I know we were warned that there might be emotional release, but it has me freaked out LOL. Not freaked out to do it, but freaked out to get my behind on the table tomorrow since it will be my turn then.

Yes, "melt downs" as you put it do happen with this work. This is a release of tissue memory clear down to the cellular level. Amazing things have been accomplished with MFR.

When I was in school we went over MFR somewhat. After taking this class I now have a deeper appreciation for it. Go with whatever you and your mindbody feel as you get the work done. Try not to worry about others watching (I know, easy to say) so you receive the full benefit.

If you are interested in pursueing MFR, I recommend checking out the web site. I read his book "Healing Acient Wounds". Good book. Just bought "Walking the Tiger". Can't wait to start it.

Honestly I would love to just go with it, but unfortunately I have to leave and go to a very, very important meeting right after school and need to look professional and composed. Any other day and I would be fine with it!!!

Unfortunately it isn't a "volunteer" situation. We simply take turns and had I not gone today I would have had to make up the time with people I don't know. It didn't go that bad, but I am feeling a little not myself right now. I can't explain it, but I am just feeling a little like I want to be left completely alone (which isn't like me). My instructor seems to think I am trying to repress my feelings and not letting them out.

Being alone can be good. Time to reflect... It can take a while to unwind and completely let go. Don't sweat it - you'll be fine.

Since my training I did MFR on a client. I talked to him today. He said his body feels totally different and is ready for more next week! Yea! ''

MFR can leave you feeling a little not like yourself... that was my 1st reaction to it in school. As soon as you are able, please try to spend some quiet time with yourself to let "unresolved issues" peroclate to the surface as one of my instructors would say in class. My second reaction to MFR was a total meltdown of epic proportions that I was prepared for and unprepared for in the same breath. AND, it came during a hands-on exam in massage technique class. WHEEEE!!!! In the end, the physical release of long held emotinal baggage was very gratifying, and made my fibromyalgia a lot less painful. Both instances were excellent learning opportunities for me. I've found, for me, approaching MFR with an open mind and a willingness to receive "healing" in whatever form it takes is extremely helpful to a positive less dramatic outcome. Perhaps that would help you as well.
