mobile massage companies in london

Hi,

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has worked for a mobile massage company in London.... Which companies are great to work for? Which companies should I avoid? Is the earning potential of £100 per day realistic or is it necessary to sign up with several agencies to achieve this? How do therapists manage on public transport with their massage bed?!

I had a call form a mobile agency inviting me for an interview and then they cancelled it. I wasn't really that interested but wanted to at least check it out. I think they were paying around £37 per hour - not sure how much clients would pay. Plus there is the potential of tips but that is not guaranteed.

Depending on what rate you get I guess you could earn £100. However if you were doing private mobile work you could earn that with just one or two cllents. If I was going to do mobile work privately I would probably offer only 1.5 hour treatments or do a minimum of two people in one place.

I think the thought of mobile work seems appealing until you factor in the time it takes to get to a client & setting up.

The thought of carting my couch on public transport doesn't fill me with happiness. Unless you've got a very light couch it will be like pulling a suitcase along. Maybe as an experiment try it and see how you go.

Have a look at the website of some of the mobile companies you would like to work for sometimes the wording can give you a feel of what they are about.

Some therapists enjoy mobile work so hopefully they'll chime in with their experiences.

I would say £100 is quite manageable over about 5 treatments but get mobile clients on your own and you only have to do 2-3 clients a day to earn that much and you wont have as much stress!

From my experience most men just carry the table on their shoulder using public transport and a lot of females use a wheeled cart (slot the table in and wheel it around) to travel with their couch. Either way try and get a couch around 11kg a sometimes you have to negotiate stairs when the lift is broken in flats.
