Fireballs and Killjoy, Thanks for bringing up the car theft problems and its remdies. Ghosh I was barking or rather worrying up the wrong tree (kidnapping) ! Now here is something I am "comfortable" worrying about, because I never take my 2006 BMW 850il across the border ever And yes there are too many car thefts in So Cal or ever not No Cal. Just the other day my friends Saturn 99 model was stolen in San Ramon, He got it back 2 days later minus the portable navigation system. Thanks for putting things i perspective and an education on anti carthefts.
Ps: I was kidding, I just drive a lowly Toyota, and i am a little beyound driving distance from TJ at moment, and I meant Killit and not Killjoy, that was a ypo

Thanks Killit for the advice, but you offer little hope against a professional thief, but you did offer some good edcuational advice, like thiefs have the ability to jam LOJACK, as I didn't know that before.

I knew you were going to recommend the garage, but what little room I have left in their is for my car, so the Honda will have to stay outside. I guess I'll have to go ahead and try some of the techiques of the daredevil below I posted, like a good alarm, but I won't go overboard like he tends to do as the best I could do is stop a joyrider or new to the business car thief gang banger.

In regards to TJ I just try to avoid driving in there when possible as it's better to take a taxi.

Maybe I'll just get a new dog like a Pitbull/ Rothweiler and put the dog in the car at night? I seen that in the movies used successfully against a REPO man.

Any advice how to protect my car specifically, and generally when you are also in Tijuana?

I steal cars for a living {legally}so I am go to tell you my adivce? Have insurance, in LA and SD alot of car thefts are useing tow trucks to steal cars. With a tow truck it takes 30 {sometimes not even that}seconds to steal a car.Alrams won't go off,
kill switch won't stop the car from moving.I know for sure the SDPD {one of the officers me told that they are cars being stolen with no trace left behind.} looking for somebody with a tow truck stealing car's.

Lowjack is only good if the theft dosen't have a jammer{250$ are higher off the net} and if you can call it quickly before he get's to the chop shope so the police can find the car.SDPD officer I talk to said they raid a chop shop in San Yisdro and they had cellphone jammers,GPS jammers,thats why they couldn't find alot of cars. Lojack in TJ is not going get your car back to you have go thorught lot of hoops buy the time they try and find your car its going to be stripped.

My best adivce would be park in a closed door gorgae are disconnected the battery.{let them vandlaies the car.}

Here you go Bohemian I know you miss some of those guys you mentioned, so I'll drag one of their post over here as the post does some merit, as many cars are stolen and broken into in Tijuana. Although I don't like the fact that TJ is signaled out, because they steal a shit load of cars in Southern California, and I bet at a way higher rate than Tijuana?

But I bring up this topic because at times I do drive in Tijuana, and safely for you car is a concern, but what has me really worried is probably within this week, I'm going to buy my youngest son a 2002 Honda he wants a way below blue book and a great deal, and is is coming up with some of the money. But I'm thinking Honda, Oh No the car thieves are going to be gunning for that car, as Honda is right up high on the lists of cars being stolen, so what should I do to protect the car except from thieves besides put a $ 100 alarm.( too cheap right?) I speak from experience here, had three cars stolen from me, lucky I got two back in fine shape, the 3rd was completely stripped, and I had other problems. And I'm not going to just rip Tijuana as having major car thief problems, when I like in the capital of cars being stolen here in Southern California with all our nice cars.
