Like the post, am a member of the mile high club over Palm Springs... the windshear turbulence ever the San Jacinto's come into play
and GF is bouncing her head on the fuselage. And all of sudden your at 3000 feet in altitude flying into Palm Springs airport along the San Jacinto mountains, just coming through the Banning Pass.
Palm Springs Tower starts to contact you about weather and pattern altitude coming in and strongly recommend I get to 1500. you calmly remind them you are doing your best as the turbulence takes you from, 3000 feet to 1000 feet in 2 seconds...... that's a dam good jolt BTW.........

Then landing the little piper archer 182 behind a 757 on a 2 mile final, epic.....
Spend the night watching the space station flying over at night - EPIC SHIT!

Next day you saddle up, Have lunch, go back to Los Angeles and bobs your uncle... 1993.... While the battery flipped over and was leaking...
Believe me it is a hard thing do in a Piper Archer 1989.. as is quickies sometimes, .. and got to have my hands on the YOKE.

At 5000 feet it just looks like a black spot in the ocean. Not until about 2000 feet does the spot illuminate.

And then that epic flight at night on the way to LAX.. LAX tower warns of 747 on 3 mile final. You bet my ass i went down just to be safe.
