I am thinking about going to colege in September to take a massage course, could anyone please advise me on the best one to take. Also if you work as a self employed therapist, how many clients do you see per week. I am based in south London.

I think Remedial Massage offers the best for me. I see different conditions all the time and so the scope for boredom is less. I don't think I could do the holistic stuff personally. I've been at it 18 months and average about 2 - 4 per week at the moment.

People often start with swedish/holistic massage and then develop their skills from there. Thats what I did. You can do that type of course at a local college like Morley in Lambeth, and its not too expensive.

You could also launch straight into sports massage for instance but would mean taking a course at a private college which is dearer and longer study.

So many options - it all depends on what you see yourself doing in the future. If your not sure then there is reason to start with a smaller cheaper course like the ITEC Holistic massage. You do often need the anatomy part for further courses too so the ITEC one is handy.
