BELL COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has suspended the massage therapist and massage instructor licenses of Demarr Thomas, barring him from working in Texas until several criminal cases against him are resolved or a court orders his licenses reinstated.
Thomas faces three pending criminal charges in Bell County, including one felony count of sexual assault and two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault. Police allege the incidents occurred while Thomas was performing massages on clients.
"TDLR takes allegations of sexual misconduct extremely seriously and there is no place in this profession for those who abuse their position of trust," TDLR Executive Director Courtney Arbour said in a statement. "Protecting the public is our foremost responsibility and we will pursue every possible action under the law to hold licensees accountable."
Thomas may not practice as a massage therapist or instructor in Texas until the legal matters are resolved.
