Massage Table opinions please

Hi
I'm a student on an ITEC Holistic massage course and need to get a massage table quite quickly so I can practice what I have been shown at college.

As our tutor recommended a metal couch I was thinking of getting a Lifegear Power Tharapist

Has anyone else got one of these tables and would they recommend them?

I have posted this on this part of theforum as I would value the opinion of practising therapists.

Hi Heather

Well I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. It seems an awful of money especially if you are still training and not sure how many clients you will get initially.

There are lots of places you can look(email me if you want specifics).

When I bought mine I took into account the fact I may do mobile work and not just use it for massage (waxing, facials etc). The one I chose in the end has adjustable legs, height adjustable back, face hole is weighs 14kg with a carry handle.

Hi Heather,

I think nearly everyone does some kind of mobile massage when they start out. That means lugging your table from car (or bus)to door, sometimes up stairs. The one you're looking at is 16kgs which will not be fun I can tell you.

Will you be doing beauty treatments or similar? Because if you're doing just holistic massage then I'm not sure you'll need a back lift capability on your table.

It's 12.3kgs which is light. It's aluminium, so it's strong. Height adjustable, which is essential. And it's much cheaper. One tip... before you buy it, sit on it and rock from side to side, back to front. If it squeaks ask for another one.

I have just managed to buy a 26in wide New concept Professional table on ebay for £105. Second hand but that's OK.
