ELLETTSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The Ellettsville Police Department said it closed the Sun Flower 99 Spa in Bloomington, Indiana, following a three-month investigation into alleged illicit activities, resulting in multiple felony charges against the owner, the department said in a release.
Police said they arrested Zhongqiang Teng.
According to police, the investigation began in mid-October after police received an anonymous tip about potential “illegal activities” at the massage parlor located in Richland Plaza.
Police said surveillance led to the arrest of the owner, Zhongqiang Teng, who faces charges including Level 5 felony prostitution and corrupt business influence. Another individual, Xueren Chen, was also charged with promoting prostitution, they said.
Zhongqiang Teng, 51, was apprehended in Winchester, Virginia, after a license plate reader identified his vehicle, leading to his arrest on a warrant issued in Indiana, according to police. He is currently held on a no bond extradition warrant, awaiting transfer back to Monroe County to face charges.
Teng faces a total of 11 charges, including possession of child pornography and failure to remit sales tax.
Xueren Chen, 43, who shares an address with Teng in Evansville, Indiana, is charged with multiple counts of promoting prostitution and corrupt business influence, the department said in a release.
