Hello,
A lady has rung me up to book an appointment for a massage. She mentioned that she has MS and also that she has very limited movement and is pretty much bed bound. Nearing the end of the conversation she admitted that she was frightened of having a massage.
As I am only just setting up this means she will be amongst the first of a new wave of clients (I have had some regulars for about a year, but all of these have been for relaxation of sore backs!) and so I am hoping that someone out there might have some experience of working with clients with MS and would be prepared to give some suggestions.
I have reassured her that anything I do will be gentle, considerate of her and I will keep up communication throughout in order to adjust to her needs and give her the best attention I can.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Many thanks, and good wishes to all.
Alison
