Massage at ski resorts

Have any of you worked as a massage therapist at a ski resort and what was your experience? Where you independent or where you linked to the resort.

I know a number of people who regualarly go on a group organised ski trips to Europe. I am thinking of contacting the orgnisers to see if I could join them as the group massage therapist.

I also know someone that runs yoga retreats and takes therapists along to massage the clients. The client pays the therapist directly.

I know that crystal ski (part of thomson), employ massage therapists in some resorts - check their website. Their is obviously more money to be made by doing it independently.

i always offer my services to friends when i go skiing and always earn enough doing odd bits for a few nights of apres ski! there must be a huge demand for it especially in resorts where there are lots of germans they are really keen on massage as a nation.

Thanks - a while back I did see an ad for a company looking for therapists to work at a ski resort but the pay wasn't great.

I don't want to work on a ski resort for a season just for a week or so. When I finally get round to contacting the organisers of the group trips I will see if there would be enough demand from their clients. My plan is to join them on the holiday but not be skiiing.

Mark Warner employ massage therapists. I emailed them for some info earlier in the month as I'm considering doing it either next season or the following one. As you'd expect, the pay's not great, but you obviously get your accomodation, lift pass, boot and ski/board hire and discounted drinks.

 

[Reality bites]

Just be aware that the pay isn't great and you will probably be paid in sterling, but if you are, for instance, living in the Alps, you will be living in Euros in what's likely to be a very expensive resort.

My daughter works as a nanny for Mark Warner and effectively her pay has gone down each season, because of the exchange rate.

Try www.massageme.co.uk its a company that specialize in sending people to ski resorts for massages. Pay is suppose to be good.

I recently found a website called Trovit which had a few ads for massage therapists on ski resorts.
