I have spent the whole day sitting round "the table" and experienced first hand the work that is done behind the scenes, there were discussions on forward planning on the roles of the respective PAs, the strength of PA memberships, answers to queries made by PA members, the NICE report, The CNHC, The CNHC disciplinary process, the relationship between GCMT and CNHC, the lobbying of the relevant Government agencies, the raising of education standards, the new NOS, the quality assurance processes, the policing of qualifications.............
All of the present personel were there on a voluntary basis, many of whom work in private practice and were losing money to be there, there were no EGOs, just constructive discussion, some differences of opinion and some healthy debate.
The result of which will shortly be appearing in you PA newsletters, websites and emails.
What I would say is, if you have strong views either in support of or against either the GCMT, the CNHC or your own or other professional association, get on board and share your views, they will be respected and discussed in an adult and constructive way...........however if you want to rant.....apart from getting it off your chest,,,, what are you achieving?
