Hi all,
Please can anyone tell me, when performing massage on someone with MS are there areas that should be avoided? i.e. vibrations or friction circles along the erector spinae muscles?
From what i have read it seems a gentle soothing massage with some stretching of muscles is most recommended. I have a lady who is interested in massage who has MS but from what she has told me of previous experience with massage she would much prefer a more firm, deep pressure, (it seems she wasn't happy with the soothing gentle effleurage strokes) which i've read can cause exhaustion and debilitation.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
Marion
