I have been there, I have to say by far manhattan was the best experience I had in shanghai.
I had this amazing pinay woman.
Who serviced me amazingly and for as cheap as 900rmb.

Guys, the market rate in Manhatten is around 1000 RMB for an overnight. Please please do not spoil the market by pay significantly more. Typically, the girl will quote something ridiculous like 2000 RMB for a night, they will generally make a final offer of 1500 RMB, which is not too bad, but I believe that usually there is room for negotiation. THe last girl I went with I had for 1000 RMB + 100 RMB taxi fare. She quoted 2000, then 1500, I held firm and said, you know where I am. She came back to me later that morning with the above offer.

We mongerers need to look out for each other in these times of economic difficulties!! The girls exhibit cartel behaviour and try to fix prices, there is no reason why we cannot do the same.

Sadly...the answer is "none of the above". If you want hot Chinese girls, you need to go to ktv or sauna, not a western style bar where the population of Chinese girls becomes limited by language skills. Given most FLs are from out of town, their English isn't like those raised in Shanghai.

Manhattan: has very few Chinese. Police regularly go in and chase them out...actually threatening them to given them free sex (no joke).

Bar Rouge: management limits the number of FLs. The FLs they have are girls who used to work at Manhattan...one or two are nice but they will quote you 3,000 rmb for short time. I recommend Rose (small girl, big boobs with ponytail). She is there every night and is available for short time only. Her service is not great but she has a hot bod.

Malones: only has old chinese girls (older than 30).

Zapatas: has few Chinese girls and what Chinese girls they have are not too young.

Dragon: is hit or miss...and is worth a gandor if you are still searching as late as 2 a.m. in the morning.

First of all, as a newbie on this forum, I do appreciate all the info people are sharing here.

Although I have never been to Manhattan, it reminds me a very popular pick-up night club in BKK - CM2 (in Novotel, Siam Square), live band, good music, and lots, lots of HOT WG/FL. Among 100-120 girls, about 70% Thai, 25% East European (Russia, Ukraine), 5% misc. (Chinese, Singapore..)

Got an up-coming trip to Shanghai in Jan for 10 days, I am planning to check out the following places,

* Manhattan (No. 1 recommendation by almost everyone)
* Bar Rouge (upscaled, high $$$)
* Malone
* Zapata's
* Dragon Club (open til 10 am?!)

Any recommendation on which of the above clubs has higher % of quality Chinese girls?

I live within 5 minutes of the place. Good and accurate info by grazz. Pretty much spot on, only I pay a little less for ST.

ST usually just one pop, but make it clear with the girl if you're planning on 2-3 pops in a few hours. girls will probably 1st quote between 1000-1500rmb. most will go for 500-800rmb

LT (over night) make sure you say you want an additional release in the morning. 1st quote 1500-2500rmb. most will go for 800-1200rmb

It's a totally different game actually...
In BKK or AC, the freelancers are still (generally) Thai & Filipina. They might be girls who don't (or can't) work in a bar or an a-gogo, or girls who've finished work at one of these places and maybe didn't get a customer or are looking for extra cash. As such it's pot luck. When I'm in either BKK or AC, I generally don't pick up FL's (although I have from discos in Pattaya). Overall though, I'd say I prefer to take a girl from an established place (bar or a-gogo).

In Shanghai (and specifically at Manhattan), the FL's are overwhelmingly from another country. This is a significant game-changer, and while it's still pot-luck to a certain extent, I think the end result is a "safer" experience. The girls are all in China on some sort of a visa...therefore brushes with the law mean potential expulsion from the country & probably denial of future re-entry.

Manhattan is currently 60% Vietnamese, 20% Philippines, 10% Chinese and 10% other. The Chinese will only stay short time. The Filipinas are generally game to stay all night (especially since they live in an apartment with 10 others and have to shre a bed) and the Vietnam girls are a mix...some will stay the night and others will not. Depends on the girl and whether she likes you. Except on rare occassion I always pay 1,000 rmb regardless of how long the girl stays.

Just left Shanghai today! I was stayed at a five star hotel. I brought back a girl from Manhattan to my hotel after midnight and was asked to register my girl. The procedure was quite easy, just show her ID, but I still not feel comfortable.

My friend, a local, told me that police are still checking folks taking girls into hotels. Even though the Expo is done, they still are keeping strict watch on things. He said if I am taking a girl to a hotel I could be stopped by the cops.

even before the crackdowns I was asked to register my g/f I whispered to the reception clerk "she is chinese lady,married - do you understand" got me around the problem every time and on subsequent visits with the same g/f was never asked to register her.

I've heard that girls have had to register at some hotels recently...not sure if that was Expo-related (the Expo is now finished, so not sure if that's still in effect). As I live about a 15 minute walk from Manhattan, I've never experienced this first-hand. In my opinion though, even if they do make the girl register, it would seem to be not much more than a minor inconvenience. I wouldn't let that stop me.
