Making aroma face masks

This is my first posting on this particular forum, so I'd like to say a big hello before I start.

I was wondering if any of you know where I could get hold of some magnesium carbonate to put in my aroma face masks? Sally don't seem to stock it and salon services were out of stock and weren't sure when more would be delivered. I'm based in London. Any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated.

I use green clay for face masks which is really good. Fragrant Earth, Essentially Oils and some of the other suppliers sell it. Just mix it with water to form a paste, add essential oils if needed, then apply, leave to dry and wash off.

Its much cheaper in France if you can get it straight from there.

Thanks for that. Will give it try. I got online and have found that Neal's Yard do a green clay, so will take a wander down there in the sunshine tomorrow.

I agree with Taz that green clay does make a lovely mask, but it does depend on what skin type you are mixing for. Green clay is more suited to oily skin as it is very drawing. White clay is suitable for sensitive skin and pink for normal.

Sorry, should have added that green clay can make sensitive skin feel tight. I can't use it on my cheeks but its brilliant on the forehead, nose and chin. Its also great for very dry/eczema skin when you chuck a handfull in the bath water. It looks a bit murky but leaves the skin lovely and smooth.

I have not tried the other clays but will probably give them a try.
