Lomi
I also work with Lomi. I wouldn't say I specialize in it, but I do two versions, Temple Lomi and Aunty Margaret's Lomi. What I do the most of is what I call Integrative massages. These combine the best moves from many of the things I do. If someone comes in and wants a general massage, they get some Swedish, some Temple Lomi, some Aunty Margaret Lomi compressions, maybe some Esalen. Whatever they need, they get.
I've found that the styles of Lomi that I have learned are completely integratable into anything else I am doing. There are very few people that come in asking for Lomi or anything specific. If they ask for something specific, it is usually Deep Tissue (and I use a lot of Lomi moves there as well).
I love the Lomi as it gets me thinking with my forearms instead of my hands. I can do many effleurages with my forearms instead of my hands. When I need compressions, my forearms are there. It has gotten to the point that when I do Esalen, I am using my forearms as much as anything. So, yes, I love the Lomi training I have had.
