LEWISTON, Idaho – Police have arrested multiple people in connection with an ongoing prostitution investigation involving several massage parlors in Lewiston.
According to the Lewiston Police Department, on Monday, the Nez Perce County prosecutor and chief deputy prosecutor secured four grand jury indictments against Xiaohong Wang of Lewiston, Ping Schutt and Clinton Schutt of Pomeroy, and one unnamed suspect. Each faces two counts of receiving proceeds from illegal sexual activity and maintaining a place of commercial sexual activity.
Police said that on Tuesday, law enforcement agencies executed multiple search warrants at three Lewiston businesses: Asian Best Body Works, Oriental Massage Spa and Perfect Body and Foot Salon. Officers took three suspects into custody and seized multiple assets, including bank accounts, cash and a commercial property.
The investigation, which lasted 12 months, uncovered evidence of prostitution, money laundering and sexual exploitation, officials said. Each suspect is being held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court.
Police encourage anyone with information related to prostitution or human trafficking to come forward. In emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency reports, contact the Lewiston Police Department at 208-746-0171.
