Hi. I wondered if you could give me some advice. I am planning to start training in complementary therapies and am deciding which to do. One course Im considering is the kevala aromatherapy/massage course. Im mainly interested in learning the massage part - but thought that I would add the aromatherapy on.
Now the course includes a minimum of the vtct syllabus of ananomy and physiology, massage, and aromatherapy. So its like 3 courses in one. It is distance learning, but the people at kevala are all qualified holistic therapists in these disciplines. Additionally you can do tutorials and also optonally undertake a weekend for verification with vtct. My plan is to attend 6 days practical tuturial, and get the vtct verification for the massage part only. You also have to do loads and loads of case studies. The vtct massage is level 3 certificate. Do you think this is adequate to practice? Would it enable me to progress to further courses?
I know you can practice as long as you can get insurance and you can with many courses including distance learning. But I do want to learn it all properly. Also is it necessary to get the vtct verification for anatomy and physiolgy or is it ok to just get the massage part verified? (just cost considerations really) The anatomy and physiology is the vtct course.
I could do level 3 diploma in holistic massage at college (either vtct or itec), but I am impressed by kevala. The a&p and massage part alone of the course takes one year with kevala.
I am not sure if I want to do the aromatherapy part (you can just do a&p and massage if you want), but wondered if it may be advantageous in obtaining work once qualified.
Many thanks.
