Just Started Clinic

Last Wednesday, Nov. 10, I started clinic! I was so nervous and worried that I would forget everything I learned over the past 9 months. So, imagine my horror when I looked at the schedule and saw my name next to a 10:30 AM appointment for a hot stone. I panicked, rambling on about how our 4 days of hot stone training back in SECOND SEMESTER was a blur... then, with 3 hours left to prepare for my first client, I just calmed down, went to the computer room, got on youtube and typed "hot stone" into the search area. I watched a few videos, realizing that I was critiquing the MTs more than I was learning from them, and it dawned on me that I did remember alot about hot stone after all!

My client gave me a 5 out of 5 score and rescheduled. I was very happy! I'm not really sure how much he remembered of the massage as he fell asleep right after I finished with his shoulders. There were a few goofs here and there. I forgot my towels, a stone slid of his thigh and I cracked a stone against his tibia (and he kept snoring)...

I haven't ever been so sure about anything in my life as I am about becoming a massage therapist!! I love my new career!

Just Started Clinic

YAY! I just started the Shiatsu component of clinic myself (final clinic last semester) . Trust me, it goes by so quickly you will laugh at all your bloopers!

Just Started Clinic

My newest class are all starting their clinic this week! It's so fun to see them so completely nervous until they start that very first massage. Once they start, everything just "clicks" and they realize, Hey, why am I nervous? I know how to do this! I remember going through the exact same feeling when I started.

I'm a little jealous that you got 4 days of hot stone massage. I only have 7 Hydrotherapy classes total to teach my students spa treatments and only one of those days is able to be dedicated to hot stone massage
