jojoba carrier oil

Hi, I have several bottles of carrier oil, all stored in a cool place which are about 5 months old. The jojoba oil which I thought lasts for ages, has gone congealed. Is this normal and will I be able to use it again?

I've had this too - my house is pretty cold!
But there has been no issue with it; just bring it back up to warm temperature and it will be fine.

Jojoba is a wax and will set when cold - warming it should do the trick but if it smells funny (like cooking oil) then it may have oxidised and is not good to use.

I brought it into my house (my therapy room is in a cabin in the garden and can get very cold when not in use) and it is fine now, no strange smell so I think its ok. I would be interested to know where/how everyone else stores their oils. I know extreme changes in temerpature are not good, but neither is a warm room, and as I say my cabin gets very cold, would you think its better to leave them out there or bring them in?

I used to get my jojoba from a farm, but supply was limited to summer - the rest of the time the jojoba tanks were pretty well solid and he couldn't bottle it for customers! I go through too much of it and ended up changing to a normal commercial source

Cold is better than hot, I keep some of my less used carrier oils in the fridge to slow down their oxidising. Problem is I forget they are in there and just use the jojoba all the time
