NAMTI
Hi Shane, I'm suprised you haven't heard good things about NAMTI. As a recent graduate of NAMTI Prescott, I can tell you from personal experience that they are a fantastic school for massage and bodywork. Let me share with you my experices at NAMTI.
Their office and teaching staff are the BEST! They are so willing to work with you as a student to get the most out of your education. Each and every person there went way above what was expected to help you out. The teachers are more than willing to give you extra help should you need it with the classes.
As of right now the state of AZ requires 500 hours, which is going up next year to 700 hours. NAMTI offers 840 hours so you are way above what you need to get your license. From what I researched of the other school here, they only offer the minimum 500 for right now.
They have a very diverse program of studies which includes classes in:
Swedish
Deep Tissue
A & P
Pathology
Reflexology
HydroTherapy and SoulStones
Shiatsu
TuiNa
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Myofascial
Craniosacral
Reiki
Traditional Thai Massage
TaiChi & Qi Gong
Polarity
Business skills
Student Clinic
Each teacher is very well versed in their modality and has been practicing that speciality for years. They love to teach it and it shows in the way their class is run and how well you learn as a student.
I find that I have been able to pull elements from each of the modalities taught and incorporate them into my own massage work. I know my clients love what I can do for them when they are on the table, and I owe that to what I learned at NAMTI.
If you are looking to go to school here, I encourage you to go down and talk to the staff and find out for yourself just how good a school they are.
disclaimer--No, I dont work for NAMTI, No, I dont get paid by NAMTI, I'm just a very happy graduate of the school and dont regret my decision to have chosen them for my education.
