Itchy lavender!

I recently had a small growth removed fromthe skin between my neck and my chest. Once it started to heal over, I used some lavender on it to speed the healing and help with any scarring. A couple of days later, it is really quite itchy. The area around the wound is also a little inflamed.
I'm sure it will clear up fairly quickly - but any ideas for easing the itchiness?!

1) whos brand is the lavender?
2) how old is the product?

Hi Kay,
It's lavendula augustifolia from Natural Touch, and it's well within its use-by date.

Isn't itching a part of the healing process. Try another bit of the same lavender and do a patch test to see if the same happens again just to check if your have an allergy to it.

I'm sure you're right, Binah. There are certainly signs of skin renewal. It's just a bit itchy!

My son has always compained of itching when I have used lavender for him! - I used to think it was psychological as there was never a rash/ redness to be seen. As he's got older he won't go near lavender, though happily uses other essential oils in my colletion for various ailments.
So I don't think it's an allergy, but it definately makes him itch!?
That doesn't help you, but you're not alone!!
