I finished massage school 2 years ago and at first I was scared to take my boards and now I am stuck in an office job.

Is it too late for me to take my boards and how difficult will it be for me after 2 years? :roll:

Its never too late.
just find out what all is on your boards and make a plan to take it on a certain day.
Give yourself some time to study and get yourself back in sync with doing massages.
You already know the stuff you just need to refresh it.

It's been a few years but, I took my national certification exam 1 year after my graduation from MT school. Is that what you're referring to? I reviewed my school texts, looked over my tests that I'd saved from MT school... for a couple hours each day for about 4-5 days before the National. And passed it with flying colors.
I think it'll require some review by you... but if you did well in school I do think you stand a good chance of getting it done fairly quickly. After all you've already learned the knowledge once, you are just recalling it to mind.
Do you have a state exam on top of the National? What's the current laws for MT? Do you still have enough hours to qualify?
Do you still live near your school? Why not give them a call and speak to someone there about sitting in on some classes or if they have a National Certification review class set up.
Definitely think you Can do it... if you Want to!

This month it will be exactly 2 years since I've graduated. I have not taken the national certification yet. It's on my To Do list for this year though. I'm a bit nervous about it. But I did well in school. I'm just gonna review, review, review. I know it's costly but if you don't pass on your first try you can take it again.

You've already learned this stuff, you just need to call it all back to mind. Remember to breath and stay calm and it'll come rushing back. And well, reviewing helps too!

hi, i hear your nervousness loud and clear, i've been out of school almost 2 1/2 yrs now and although i work on friends and family and occ. bring my chair for chair massage at my office job i haven't taken the nat cert either.
being out that long can seem really daunting about remembering all the info we were taught in school but like everyone else said You can do it!
review and maybe getting a friend or family member to quiz you would be great. also, like maestra suggested see if your old school offers a review. i signed up for a Nat exam review from my old school in April & i can't wait.
