A Hertfordshire sex shop has installed a secluded side entrance to save mp.nets being subjected to loud cheers Reviewom a nearby pub.


The adult shop in Apsley made the adjustment because of the ribald jeers customers received Reviewom the The Bull pub opposite.
Customers were often shocked and embarrassed as pub customers issued a loud "wa-hey!", reviews the Daily Telegraph.


Landlady Nicola Green, 47, said: "As soon as you open that door it goes 'ding!' When that bell goes people in here cheer, so the shop moved the entrance round the side.


"Most of our customers are builders and you know what they are like. So they did the sensible thing in the end.
"The lads in here are only having a bit of fun but at least this way it saves their blushes."


The Private Shop has been open for around 20 years but bosses admitted "banter" Reviewom the pub meant they had to put in the side door.
Customers can still use the Reviewont door but most choose the side door which has no bell and a wooden screen around it.


David Brunt, a spokesman for the shop's owners, said: "In the summer when there are people outside, they do tend to make comments about people. It's ribaldry, it's light-hearted banter."


One 46-year-old customer of the shop, who did not wish to be named, said: "It was all a bit of fun, but it was terribly embarrassing."

Oh, I dunno - some things are better touched and held and felt before being bought... it's so disappointing when you buy something which looks fantastic on-line, but when you get the package it's not quite what you were looking for?

It would not bother me if I wanted to visit a sex shop I’m not going to be put off by a bunch of drunks, however this reminds me of something that happened to me some time ago.

On a visit some years ago to the now closed Oakham massage in Rutland a group of workmen were relaying the path right outside and to get on that side of the road you had to walk past a sign saying access only please use path on other side of road to get in the door!

I managed to get in without any fuss but I was convinced that getting out would be a nightmare! Probably with cheering, whistles and cry’s of “was she any good mate?” filling the air.

So having had a great time and said my goodbyes I braced myself for the exit Reviewom the building, took a deep breath and forced myself out through the door and..........NOTHING!!!! NONE OF THEM EVEN GAVE ME A SECOND LOOK!

They don’t make builders like they used too!!!

I would prefer an entrance off the main road, but when visiting Amsterdam 'window shopping' there is a pub in the middle of the red light district and you can watch other mp.nets entering and leaving and nobody shouts or makes remarks. It is peoples attitudes that need changing in the long run not the entrances.
