Is herbal witchcraft similar to aromatherapy?

Firstly I'm not saying aromatherapy is witchcraft for those of you against witchcraft. I'm simply curious as to weather there are some aspects of aromatherapy which are also incorporated into the herbal side of witchcraft.
I'm passionate about herbs and witchcraft and the environment however my mum has no idea I'm into witchcraft and paganism. But she has books on aromatherapy and I was just wondering if reading more into aromatherapy would aid me in gaining more knowledge in the herbal side of witchcraft?

(Please keep the answers about aromatherapy or witchcraft. I'm not looking for other religious people telling me my beliefs are sinful or that I am worshipping the devil - I am not.)

Also, I am very interested in learning about religions, cultures and similar things. I was wondering if anyone knew of any boos which brushed over paganism but didn't scream paganism when first looking at it. So my mum couldn't guess at it. There same goes for books on witchcraft.
