Investigating Reiki

While I do enjoy some Reiki incorporated into my massage every once in a while, unfortunately I don't see this article helping the "flaky Reiki" prejudice at all. If the author really wanted to show the healing benefits of Reiki to the average human being who has no knowledge of bodywork and energy, she probably should have gone the route of describing in more detail how the relaxation and flow of energy supports one's health via de-stressing. Yes, it may seem obvious to you and me, but even though "alternative" healthcare is becoming more popular, people still want a scientific explanation for it and want it put into Western-medicine terms. I think that if I had no previous knowledge of Reiki, I would be just as confused as ever after reading this.

After looking around on the website, it does look like it's aimed at people who are already avid participants in yoga, massage therapy, acupuncture, etc. So for the target market, I suppose the article wasn't as far-fetched as it first seemed.

Investigating Reiki

I agree. I think that it was targeted at the right market for sure. I love it and have been getting Reiki treatments for years from my mother and aunt. I feel like it works well for me and they are able to make me feel better almost instantly. The article does a good job of thoroughly explaining its healing effects. Thanks for sharing.
