I would like to know what some of your thoughts and opinions are on this. I have done the abdominal/intestinal massage for several of my clients in the past with no problems or complaints and some have even had great results with IBS or basic constipation. But the question has arose regarding colonic irrigation and whether or not I would stand behind its benefits over massage.
While I have experienced both techniques, I am not sure that I would necessarily stand behind a colonic over a massage. Not just because I am a massag therapist but because I have been on the receiving end of the colonic. You have to make sure and re-supply your body with the "good" bacteria over a course of 7 days because it has just been depleted from your system. You have to be careful of what you eat, not that we shouldn't anyway. But for those that are not truly "health" conscious as we are, it can be a big risk, at least in my opinion.
So, I would like to see what someone else has to say on the idea. Thoughts, opinions or even suggestions as to what I can tell/explain to my clients.
