I have had a very pain full groin my massage therapist told me with Imformed consent she would massage me there well I gave consent.
But as she was massaging me there she touched my scrotum several times should she have done this or not?

Almost certainly not, but your question was "Informed consent". What information did she give you about the treament? Was she qualified to treat a groin strain? If so, what she do to determine the cause?

Massage therapist should be professional at all times, that part you haven't really described.

But the bottom line, is if you believe her touching was inappropriate, then it was.

Unless you were holding things out of theway, there is the possibility of contact with such work if your therapist did not use constricting draping to keep things out of the way. It was most likely with the back of the hand. The request for you to give informed consent indicates she probably made you aware that there could be possible contact and you had the opportunity to say that you would not appreciate it, you also had the opportunity to say contact was being made during the treatment. You did not feel as if you were being fondled did you?

She should not have made such contact, but if you had the treatment wearing boxer shorts or no underpants, and not holding stuff out of the way, things may be closer to the area being worked on than intended.

Did you go to a sports massage therapist or a holistic massage practitioner or some other qualification?

I had been to this therapist 10 or 12 times and had no bother but when I told her about the pain in my groin and then said she could help I thought it would just be the top of my groin but she went well down between my legs. I most admit the massage did releave a lot of the pain from down there but the back of her hand did rub up my scrotum

Informed consent, equates to you being informed of what this or that procedure entails etc, you are then supposed to agree or disagree to what is offered, that is the way informed consent works.

In this instance you should have had the area and muscles explained so you could make up your mind before the procedure started, it sounds like the person who gave you the treatment knows what they are doing, unfortunately they did not explain this to you fully before getting your informed consent.

As some of the muscles are situated beneath your scrotum, then your bits are usually just moved out of the way (this should have been explained), if you want this problem sorting out, then unless you can remove your bits before the treatment starts and put them back on later, then they are in the way and need to be moved out of the way as much as possible, unfortunately males are not as tidy as females down there.

Please look in an anatomy book at the muscular system, especially the ones which go around and through the groin which need working, you should have a more complete understanding of what needs working to effect a change.

Thank you Paul for that. I some times do not listen that well so it could have been me at fault not her. If I let her massage that area again I think I will get some y front pants they will give her access to my groin and keep other things away from her I do not usually have any thing on just some big towels over me
