Information required - PLSE

Hi there

I just discovered this website by chance today, well wicked!

I was wondering if anyone could possibly give me information regarding Holistic Massage. I wish to study holistic massage to start with then to gain other knowledge in the following… Indian head massage, reflexology, hot stone therapy etc… My friend back home has a really good setup & I can see myself enjoying it thoroughly!

I have been google searching for colleges or courses in the area of Brent Cross (north London) Does anyone have some suggestions on where I could find out more details of colleges being close to North London.

I was recommended a CPD course at MSCM some time ago, but was slightly deterred from enrolling because their literature implied that they insisted on white uniforms even for CPD courses and workshops. I have been on quite anumber of CPD courses, and haven't come across any course provider who insist on 'whites'.Do MSCM still insist on this?

whats wrong with wearing "whites"? lol not that i have ever had them... well i did have a dress when i did my massage course and couldnt wait to get shot of it once i qualified![/align][/align]but if the CPD has a practical element, which most do, why not wear appropriate clothing... its more professional and practical.[/align]

Yes, they usually insist on clinic wear, as the bulk part of the courses are usually of a practical nature, so it would make sense.

It's never been a problem for me.

Personally I agree with the views expressed by Mel Cash in his standard textbook 'Sport & Remedial Massage Therapy'|:



Before going to LSSM, I had invariably worn my white 'ITEC' uniform for clients, although it was beginning to show signs of frequent wear (eg slight oil stains which couldn't be fully washed out). Since going to LSSM, my standard uniform has been a navy LSSM or SMA polo-shirt, which I find much more comfortable, especially when using remedial techniques such as MET or STR.

alan,[/align][/align]me too. if i am working in a professional environment, i will wear white polo shirt and black trousers... at home, i wear what i like.[/align][/align]how strict, then, are that partiicualr school? i was surprised when i went on a CPD at the Raworth in Dorking and we wore what we wanted.[/align][/align][/align]

I've worn a white tunic top when I've worked in clinics or at events, but at home, where my blue Adidas trackie bottoms with either a white, pale blue or navy polo shirt and this is quite acceptable to wear for MSCM courses.
