interesting question - the only answer to your question is "C". The Berlin Blockade as Stalin and the USSR were invited to participate in the with the new Deutche Mark (from the former Reichs Mark) but the parnoid man in Moscow looked at this as nothing more than a take over of what he thought was his rightful share of Eastern Europe. The first version of the new Deustche Mark was printed in the United States and shipped over by cargo air plane.

The blockade and the airlift (provided by the U.S. and England) turned many who were undecided among the peoples of Europe against the Soviets and propelled the nations of Western Europe and Britain and the United States toward closer cooperation. The Russians were laying siege to a city and attempting to conquer it with weapons of starvation and cold, but the American and British airmen were defeating them by keeping the people of this beleaguered Berlin warm and well fed.
