I'm so excited that I just couldn't help but share. School starts tonight and I am so ready!! They called me yesterday to remind me that classes started tonight and after I heard the voice mail I wanted to call back and just say, DUH! I've been waiting!

Remember to come back here and read what you wrote when you are 1/2 way thru and feeling overwhelmed. You will have those moments but try to just recall the thrill of it at the start and look forward to what great things lie ahead in your future. Of course enjoy yourself in the moment too!

You guys are the best. My first night of class was the best. Seattle, your suggestion is the best I will do that.
Tonight felt so many different things. Very little anxiety, which was good. but with our first touch experience I felt a bit off as when I touch for the purpose of massage, I tend to worry too much about what the person expects me to do.
But the best part was how I felt like I belonged there. I don't have that a lot in my everyday life. I spend a lot of time feeling like I'm in the wrong everything. It was disconcerting not feeling that way for a change. Feeling so many different things, some of them conflicting (like being so sure and unsure at the same time) is quite facinating.

Okay, I'm rambling and should get to bed. Thank you again for all the well wishes.

Butterflies...

Well, I just signed the papers to register for school and I start on August 20th. I am nervous but I know I can do it. I am just not sure about this at my age -58.

I did notice a few women in the room at my orientation who seemed older so I don't feel out of place.

I can't wait to get started so I can finish.

Age is just a number... 58 is young! One of my clients visits a MT that is in her 80's! Her mother who is also in her 80's is a regular of hers! I also think it is great to have non traditional age students in a class... they have a lot to bring to the table so to speak!

Good for you! There is a quote I like that says, "It is never too late to be what you might have been". I had my 2nd class last night and it was wonderful, you'll love it. We have 18 people and there are all ages, shapes, colors, backgrounds...I just love the diversity. It brings so much to the class. I had a feeling it would be this way, but I'm still surprised at how connected we all feel after just two days. Nothing like a traditional college class!
I am already tired, but so looking forward to our first long Saturday class!

I know a MT in my town who went to MT school @ age 60...

And that was about 10 years ago, she's still practicing to my knowledge!
