I just landed a Farmer's Market Gig!

There is a new independent Farmer's Market in my area and I have been sending my information to the organizers to see if I could get in on the action. There is a person who works several of the local Farmer's Markets in my area which are organized by the same agency. I used to work with him but when he tried to take 50% of not only the cash from clients for massages, but also the TIPS I was gifted with, I said goodbye! :evil: So, my options were pretty limited, as he had the market cornered.

Well, not anymore!



I am excited to be doing this for myself. The fee is reasonable, it's on Saturdays from 9am-3pm and I can sell retail as well. I have scrubs, essential oils and organic/natural body care products that I purchase wholesale, ready to go. I am buying a tarp/shade covering like this:

and am getting together a few folding chairs, my intake/release forms on a clip board with an attached pen, my 2.5 gallon water dispenser and cups, aromatherapy, a boom box with batteries and music, business cards and holder, brochures and hand sanitizer. I would love to hear any suggestions, tips, ideas, words of encouragement or other support from anyone here.

Add the massage chair, face cradle covers, paper towels & cleaner (I know, those go without saying -- I'm just teasing!) as well as a trash can, receipt book and money box and you're good to go ~

Congrats!! Iw ould also suggest having some friends on standby to check in throughout your first day and get "Fake" massages if things get too slow. Sometimes people don't like being the first one to try something.

Will you have a friend or partner/so with you to handle any sales that happen while you're giving a massage?

In your money box, don't forget change. I usually carry ones and fives as in most transactions you can return change to the client this way. I went to a show once and forgot to go to the bank to get my change.....had to scramble at the last minute and practically beg people for ones.

I have an antibacterial gel for my hands that is all natural I got from Vitacost.com Especially if youre not near a bathroom.

and if you have room, a massage pathology book is handy to have....
