Maybe she not a texting a person or when she read the text she might have been distracted and simply just forgot to reply.

Im sure if you just give her a call it will put your mind at rest just dont say 'did you get my txt?' it sounds desperate. let her mention it if she does.

Listen I think it's pretty obvious that if she doesn't know you all that well and you just came out and asked for her number she probably either; gave you a different number or is just plain ignoring you.

She'll be ignoring you because she doesn't want to talk to somebody she doesn't really know over texts. Girls aren't like that. We aren't always comfortable with giving out our phone numbers or e-mails just because some guy came and asked for it. We're quite secure and like to know people first. If you really like her I suggest you find her and explain that if she feels uncomfortable about chatting over texts you're fine about it. Texting isn't a great way to get to know someone anyway. Anything can be mis-interpreted so talk to her face to face more often. It's better than talking over the phone all the time and she'll feel more comfy in your presence.
