How many?

We live in a very small town. I don't know of any massage therapists around here, but there is a salon on every corner. There is roughly maybe 23,000 people that live where I am from. I was just wondering what the population where everyone was and on a good day how many clients you saw for a massage?

hm, I think the population of my town is between 80,000 - 100,000 with surrounding areas. it has taken me years to build my clientele, but there are a million other MT's in town. And I moved around alot at first (big mistake when trying to build a clientele!)
Along with the population I would take into consideration the progressiveness of the town.

Our county population is around 35,000. At our spa we usually see around 25 people a week for massage, 10-16 for acupuncture and I am not sure how many for psycotherapy. I spoke at clubs, joined BNI for 6 mths. went to the banks, and school and donated time. I have done health fairs and given out countless brochures to anyone who rubbed their neck at the grocery store, walmart, wherever. I am a home town girl and I think that has helped. Oh, yea, put up flyers at the health food store and chiropractors office. In the beginning, I was able to rent on perceneforum.xxxe base a space at the Family Practice Center with a group of doctors. I saw three people there, (everyone else liked my other office), however, in a small town, being affiliated with MD's helped give me and massage credibility. That may not be true everywhere else.

My area is 1.2 million.

I see 15 clients a week, could see more but don't want to burn out.
