Thanks for replies everyone.
Okay, I read marketing for compelmentary therapies (don't know author as have lent it to someone, but bought in Waterstones) Loads of good ideas.
I live on the edge of a nice area in Nottm and printed 1200 really nice leaflets with a half price massage offer for all of Sept. I spent an hour or so a day, for 2 weeksdelivering them by hand, marking off on the map which roads I had done which days. This was great exercise and I got to see who came from which roads- now I know the type of houses to target next time, but maybe in different areas. I also put posters up with the same offer in health food shops, Co-op, newsagents etc. I gave leaflets to everyone I know to give to their friends and take to work and put on noticeboard. I putthe same offerin the local little magazine. Then the phone started ringing off the hook.
Some people will only come while it's cheap, but it gets your name known etc. When I've got them hereI give them a fab massage, loyalty card- collect 10 stamps and get a free massage, if they recommend me to someone they get ยฃ5 off a full treatment.I also sell gift vouchers and they can buy a gift voucher of the cheap offer to give to a friend or relative. Now they are all sending me their friends/ workmates etc- the trick is to make them feel involved and part of it so they want you to succeed. I'm collecting email addresses from everyone who comes so I can keep in touch.
I have collected a few customers who now come regularly at full price, but I don't mind doing a cheap offer to get the buzz going and my name known. I'm doing a cheap Aromatherapy offer starting next week for October.
