Zen Shiatsu massage is acupuncture with fingers and hands but in a greater body area than acupuncture. Shiatsu massage is based on eastern philosophy which is very old and "deep". First part of a Zen Shiatsu massage works on relaxation. Second part works on energy levels (meridians) as described by the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) holistic approach (mind, soul and body) and not the body level only.
By using TCM a shiatsu practitioner is looking to find the root of anxiety/depression problems and cure the problem and not the symptoms (body pain, sweat, etc). If your symptoms are including emotional and body pain, meaning you are stressed enough then it will take enough time to feel better. After all your problem took a long time to develop and now needs time for disappearing. A therapy crisis also might happen. But no pain no gain.
Look around for a shiatsu qualified practitioner-therapist, who has finished at least a 3years shiatsu school and give yourself a try. Or go have a weekend shiatsu seminar.
Keep in mind that people studied at shiatsu schools for 2 weekends or 1 year only can give you a relaxation shiatsu massage but they can't therapy your problem.
My personal opinion is that shiatsu massage is really useful for curing anxiety disorders/depression. Depression is a multi complex disorder that might need different approaches also like psychiatrist, homeopathy, etc.
I am having and also giving zen shiatsu massage one year already and feel better emotionally and physically than ever.
