How can I introduce reading English to my baby?

He's 1.2 year old and starting to talk a lot. I am a Filipino but as early as possible would like to introduce English language to him. All the members of the family uses our native language.
I tried the following:
1. Read him English books.
2. Talk to him in English especially during playtime.
3. Use command in English (he follows it anyway).
Any other helpful tips?

Talk English all the time. He'll have to learn if you're talking English 24/7 with him. He can make up for the... whatever native language you guys talk with the rest of your family!( =

There are many small things you can do for your young ones to pick up on another language

First, put on music or TV shows that are in English. If you and let's say your husband, friend, mom, etc. are fluent in English, then the more conversations you have in English then the more the baby will pick up. When you point to an animal... say it first in your Native language, then in the English language and try to make it clear that objects can have two names. So... here is an example... if you were teaaching your baby Spanish and said "Buenas Noches" every night (goodnight) then eventually they'd understand what you meant. And use simple songs... like sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with your baby and have them have fun and dance around, read them fun books and point out things then try to get them to reply with what it is. These are just a few suggestions and I hope they are helpful
