Hole in Heart / Palpitations / Shortness of Breath

Hi Everyone

Please can you tell me whether there is a blend I could use for my sister who has just been told she has a hole in her heart. She is suffering from palpitations and shortness of breath. I was thinking maybe use a compress.

She is waiting for appointments to tell her what she is able to do about it - but has been told that if they operate the pressure may go into her lungs so may have to take medication (best case) or heart & lung operation (worst case).

Litsea Cubeba (May Chang) is good for regulation of the heart and is used in Chinese Medicine (I believe) for this purpose. It blends well with Frankincense.

A compress or steam inhalation would be good for this. For palpitations, mandarin, petitgrain, rosemary, neroli, or melissa. To help with the breathing, rosemary, ginger, eucalyptus, niaouli, frankincense, hyssop, or cypress.

Just to add, that if your sister has high blood pressure or any other contraindications, you should seek professional advice, as there are some oils in that list that might be unsuitable.

Both hole in the heart (the roots of it) and breath shortness mean
excess of Metal (Dryness).
Palpitation is also regarded as lack of Heat in the heart = excess of Metal(Dryness).
So the remedy is to be of Heat or Fire origin.
Can't tell the recipe as this is not my area, but someone probably
can.

In general, this condition is much more serious to expect cure by
oils, though it may ease some symptomes.

I don't think any of us aromatherapists would profess to 'cure' a hole in the heart - as you said, we can only hope to help with symptoms.
